Roman categories

[edit]

Hi, glad to see you hacking on Roman stuff! My theory on Category:Ancient Romans and Category:Roman emperors is that they should only be for articles about individuals, the idea being that as subcategories of Category:People, one could merge all the subcats of people recursively and thereby generate a complete list of WP bios. So I'd rather see people-related stuff be put in other cats, and certainly under Category:Ancient Rome there are plenty to choose from... :-) Stan 05:32, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Further to that, if one thing is a subcategory of another, then you don't need to link both categories. Like Category:Ancient Roman women is a subcategory of Category:Ancient Romans, so you only need the Ancient Roman woman category. Similarily, Category:Roman empresses is a subcategory of Ancient Roman woman, so you only need the empresses category. Adam Bishop 01:24, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The Arthur Stone

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I'm puzzled by your reference in Historical basis for King Arthur (an article I'm surprised has existed for so long without my knowledge) to the inscription found at Tintagel that read "Artognou, father of a descendant of Coll, has had this built". Examining my references for this part of Britain (viz., Elisabeth Okasha Corpus of Early Christian inscribed Stones of South-west Britain, and C. A. Raleigh Radford & Michael J. Swanton Arthurian Sites in the West), I find neither of them mention this inscription. Could you provide more information about this intriguing inscription? -- llywrch 02:49, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hi, if you are very keen on creating a category for roman women *at least* make it a sub-cat on Category:Ancient Romans and remove all the girls from one to the other. As it is, being categorized in both, its just silly. Regards, muriel@pt 10:26, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

 • I cleared up the doubled categories in the Roman girls. It was such a mess. Even Zenobia was there... Cheers, muriel@pt 21:14, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

More categories

[edit]

Hey again, more about categories - if we really need a Category:Justinian Dynasty, it should be a sub-category of Category:Byzantine Empire, and then you don't need both categories on the same page, just the Justinian one. See? Adam Bishop 22:13, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Hi. I see that somebody marked this image you uploaded as unverified. When you have time, can you add an appropriate license from Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags ? Thanks! --iMeowbot~Mw 13:53, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Palpatine

[edit]

Recently, you made the following addition to Palpatine:

Several fans have noted how similar his appearance in the original trilogy is to Pope Benedict XVI, and in the prequels to U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman (although the former is certainly just coincidence). [3]

Please cite your source, because of today's current events, some might view this addition as vandalism. Thanks. Zzyzx11 | Talk 01:27, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Also if you do not cite sources to that addition, people might view it as either a personal attack or POV. Zzyzx11 | Talk 01:34, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Edit summaries

[edit]

Kuralyov, could you please use the edit summaries as recommended by Wikipedia:Edit summary? Specifically:

Always fill the summary field is one of Wikipedia's guidelines. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Accurate summaries help people decide whether it is worthwhile for them to check a change.

They are also very useful when trying to review changes to an article over time. Thank you for your cooperation. — Jeff Q (talk) 06:55, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I second third this request. Please include edit summarries. It is very tiresome to other editors to have no indication of what an edit was about without doing a diff. Thank you very much. Johntex 23:26, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
You don't have to, I don't, it will just add the section. - PatricknoddyTALK (reply here)|HISTORY 22:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bad advice. "Just the section" is not enough to identify the reason for the edit, and is of no help to other editors. There's even a Preferences checkbox to "Add two new dropdown boxes below the edit summary box, with some useful default summaries" for no typing at all. Adding usable short edit summaries is a basic skill - no reason not to do it. --Lexein (talk) 06:02, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Imperatrix

[edit]

Hi Kuralyov,

Have you any idea when the Latin term "Imperatrix" came into being? I have two Latin dictionaries, neither of them listing this word. In a more modern on-line dictionary the only context that is mentioned is that of the "Benediktbueren manuscript, which is middle ages. So it seems a bit strange to me it would go back to antiquity. Have you any other information (preferably, of course in the form of a reference), e.g. which authors from antiquity used this word? Could it be used in a non-monarch way? etc...

--Francis Schonken 19:54, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kuralyov, best to use user talk pages for your comments and not user pages. I only saw your reply by accident, since an edit of a user page doesn't send "you have a new message", like an edit of a user talk page does. Re. Imperatrix:
 • I'll see whether I can check Suetonius. I thought he'd use "Augusta". If he'd use "Imperatrix" it would be in my dictionaries that always indicate the female form if it is used.
 • Still to be checked: "wife of a republican Imperator" - sounds very unconvincing to me. But if this is the way it is, I'd be happy to add it to the "imperator" page, with a straight reference.
 • Of course "imperatrix" is the female form of "imperator" anyone knowing a bit of Latin could've constructed the female form from the male form. The question is since when it was used, and in what meanings it was used in different epochs (if the meaning shifted).

Proposed deletion for Star Wars Galaxy

[edit]

I've added the "prod" template to the article Star Wars Galaxy, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Star Wars Galaxy. If you remove the dated prod template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- MrDolomite | Talk 17:34, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of My Tank Is Fight!

[edit]

A tag has been placed on My Tank Is Fight!, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

No direct assertion of notability. No independent sources. Article previously deleted for these very reasons (see AFD discussions)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add hangon on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Drat (Talk) 06:09, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a hatred of SA. I've been reading and enjoying it for years. However, the point stands that no-one seems prepared to show that the book has been covered in any non-trivial way by sources wholly independent to the site, author, publisher, sellers, etc. It's one thing to dance around and say there are sources. It's another to actually cite those sources. I also did not delete the page. I simply tagged it, with a reason, and whoever deleted it agreed with those reasons. Please take note of the first and second Articles for Deletion discussions.--Drat (Talk) 10:43, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Broken redirect

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Devil's Hop Yard, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page (in this case, it redirects to itself -- you'd be surprised how often this happens). Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you can fix the redirect to lead to an existing article, please feel free to do so and to remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you think this will take some time, affix the template hangon to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Russ (talk) 17:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Horsell Common

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Horsell Common, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Horsell Common seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Horsell Common, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Future film

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you recently created Death and Me and wanted to let you know that per the notability guidelines for future films, a stand-alone film article is not yet appropriate due the film not having begun production. This threshold is because of factors like what this project has encountered, such as the writers' strike. Can I encourage you to merge the information to its source material, Death: The High Cost of Living, per the process outlined at the future films department? You can see some examples of merges at Spider-Man 4, Jurassic Park IV, and some pages found at the merges subpage. You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:59, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Black Jack (Jericho episode). Note that, while it may seem obvious to you that a particular scene in a show is a "reference" to some other production, that is not sufficient for Wikipeida's verifiability standards. There must be some confirmation of an intentional effort to reference the other material from the producers or another official body. If you have a valid source, and are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Fair use rationale for Image:Cultofaliengods.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Cultofaliengods.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Daneel.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Daneel.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:LOEGBond1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:LOEGBond1.jpg.

Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:53, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Arkady.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arkady.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 07:51, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Igor the Assassin, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Igor the Assassin. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Randall Flagg

[edit]

Hi--I had to remove the comicbook picture of Flagg from his article. I'm trying (in vain, it appears) to get it to Featured Status, and one of the problems people had was the abundance of decorative fair use. If I brought it up to FA again, they would probably bring up that picture. Sorry.--CyberGhostface (talk) 00:28, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The picture of King is licensed under the GFDL and is in the public domain. Anyone can use it. If it was copyrighted, since it's of a living person, it wouldn't be allowed on Wikipedia at all.--CyberGhostface (talk) 13:33, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I added it back for now, but I'd be surprised if the fair use inquisitors don't whine about it during the FA process.--CyberGhostface (talk) 13:34, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I expanded the caption for the image to make it more related to the article's content.--CyberGhostface (talk) 18:42, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you keep removing Category:Los Angeles in fiction from this article? Chinatown is most decidely about L.A., and it's fiction -- that seems like it fills the bill. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 01:44, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative history

[edit]

You say "there is no required outline for what constitutes alternate history" [4] but there is, see alternate history:

Alternate history or alternative history[1] is a subgenre of speculative fiction (or science fiction) and historical fiction that is set in a world in which history has diverged from the actual history of the world. .... While to some extent all fiction can be described as "alternate history," the subgenre proper comprises fiction in which a change or point of divergence occurs in the past that causes human society to develop in a way that is distinct from our own.

LoEG is a purely fictional history (from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume I: "The story takes place in 1898 in a fictional world where all of the characters and events from Victorian literature (and possibly the entirety of fiction) coexist.") and the key thing is that there is no point of divergence. Invitation

[edit]

It really makes me angry to see so many deletion notices on an editors page. It seems like there are two types of editors sometimes: editors who create content, and "editors" who delete their hard work.

My name is Ikip. I have been an editor for 4 years, since October 2005. I have had over 4000 of my edits destroyed by other editors. I was about to leave wikipedia in frustration many, many times, and then I asked at the village pump about groups that help articles. Even at the village pump I was harshly criticized for simply asking the question, but thankfully someone told me about the little known article rescue squadron. Since I joined the group has almost doubled, we are almost 300 members strong. We rescue articles, just like yours. I would like to formally invite you to be part of our squad.

Hello, Kuralyov.
You have been invited to join the Article Rescue Squadron, a collaborative effort to rescue articles from deletion if they can be improved through regular editing.
For more information, please visit the project page, where you can >> join << and help rescue articles tagged for deletion and rescue. Ikip (talk) 01:33, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This may help you too, many admins will happily help you userfy your deleted articles:

The article you created was just deleted?
All is not lost. Here is what you can do right now:

Many administrators will be happy to give you a copy of your deleted article, either by putting it on a special user page for you (a process called userfication) or by e-mailing you a copy.

Once you have the article, you can try to resolve the issues why it was deleted.

If you've repaired the article, or you believe the reasons for deleting the article were in error, you can dispute the deletion at Deletion Review. Generally, you must show how the previous deletion(s) were in error, but this is the place to resolve disputes about whether a deletion was wrong.

Welcome

[edit]

Hi, Kuralyov, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome! Ikip (talk) 02:54, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Cancerimlogo.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Cancerimlogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Replaceable fair use File:Barloweoldone.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Barloweoldone.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add , without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Megapixie (talk) 14:50, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Macbeth categories

[edit]

Since there were no edit summaries, I'm not quite sure of your reasoning with these two edits, but I can share mine. I figure that Category:Works based on Macbeth is for works that are based on Macbeth, be they movies, books, or plays, but deviate from the original script or plot in a significant manner, while Category:Macbeth on screen was more for actual, more faithful renditions of Shakespeare's play. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen characters

[edit]

Hi Kuralyov,

I noticed that you twice reverted the merge of Hawley Griffin and Campion Bond into List of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen characters. The merge took place after the merge tags were in place for five days; the merge suggestion went uncontested throughout that time. If you oppose a merge which has already taken place according to standard policy, the appropriate course of action is to participate in discussion on the page to which the merge was directed; in this case, that would be here. If consensus changes to be in favour of splitting the characters back off into their own articles, only then is it appropriate to do so.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CallahanvsVamp.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:CallahanvsVamp.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:19, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Additions of elections to WP:DOY pages

[edit]

Hi Kuralyov. I noticed you have added several Russian/Soviet national elections to these pages. Usually national elections don't meet the notability requirements of these pages. After all, there a lot of countries out there, and many of them have had a lot of elections throughout history. Adding them all would quickly overwhelm these pages. WP:DOY states Dates significant world leaders or movements rose to or fell from power are notable. Of course not everyone is going to agree on what is significant and what is not, but I at least wanted to explain why I reverted your edits to March 4. I'd be happy to hash this out on the article's talk page if you like, but figured I'd drop you a note here first. Cheers. Winston365 (talk) 05:18, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Categories and BLP

[edit]

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Richard Dawkins, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Arkady.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Arkady.jpg.

Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 18:38, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

 • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
 • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
 • You may wish to display the Autopatrolled top icon and/or the userbox on your user page
 • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing!HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:35, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to The First Men in the Moon (2010 film). Napoleonic code

Hi Kuralyov, I started a move discussion for Napoleonic code as you had proposed but it hath been determined, I think at least prematurely, that there is no consensus for it. I couldn't just do the move, since Move doesn't handle mere capitalisations. I've asked for the decision to be reconsidered. Your contributed article, Median Empire

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Median Empire. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Medes. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Medes - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Ankit MaityTalkContribs 15:50, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of The Cult of Alien Gods

[edit]

The article The Cult of Alien Gods has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable as provided by WP:BK. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a promotion site for any book. See also WP:G11. Publisher is arm for skeptic group and mags. This is self promotion. Everything appears to check back to itself one way or another. Need separate notable independent sources. Thor Dockweiler (talk) 07:56, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Burn!, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Walker. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks for uploading File:Cultofaliengods.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hello. I saw that you added some information about political environment of 1937 soviet elections, back in 17:02, 14 August 2010 edition. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited War of the Worlds: Global Dispatches, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stephen Baxter (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
